Owning a PS2 of PS3 and never having played God of War is like owning an Xbox and never having played Halo. The PSP has been producing some pretty stunning games for a handheld. It’s gone as far as to almost duplicate that of its console version, the PS2, in almost every way. God of War 1 & 2 on the PS2 both looked stunning, and the PSP is no different.
The game plays just like it always has; this time around it’s a prequel to the original God of War, but it’s still a revenge mission for Kratos, the main character in the first two games. Giving this to you short and sweet, if you liked the previous titles in the franchise, you’re going to love this one.
By far the best looking game on the handheld console thus far, it also has virtually no load times. Once you’ve loaded from the main menu or the save/load screen, you won’t see it again. This adds for a clean, smooth, gaming experience.
All in all, it’s God of War, and it’s done just as well as it’s been done before. It fits in perfectly with the series storyline and plays beautifully on the PSP. For any PSP owner this is a must have; the only downside is it would have been nice to see some more innovation, but again, it works as is and there is really no need for it, at least not on the PSP.
