Resistance 2 has just opened up a Public Beta sign up. MyResistance.net has set a website up so that you can simply apply for the Beta using your Playstation Network log in. The survey and application are simple enough and definitely worth getting your hands on the PS3 top first person shooter early.

Resistance 2 is the sequel of the PS3 launch title Resistance Fall of Man. Resistance is a first person shooter and was supposed to be the lead competitor for all the Xbox 360 shooters. Unfortunately this was not the case and Resistance one was met with little success compared to the Microsoft heavyweights. This time around Resistance has apparently made the proper upgrades in order to go head to head with Xbox counterparts. Some have pitted it up against Gears 2, which is just stupid seeing as that game has a much larger fan base. That being said Resistance 2 seems like it may be able to hold it's own.

STORYLINE

Picking up immediately where Resistance: Fall of Man concluded, Resistance 2 follows. Nathan Hale as he finds himself once more in a world transformed by war and invasion. Undaunted by their defeat in London, the Chimera have continued to advance, now poised to attack the United States. Entire cities have been leveled and communities annihilated. In this war where the odds are so heavily stacked against the human race, few are left who are willing and able to fight.

Fortunately, Hale is not alone. A group of super soldiers simply known as the Sentinels will fight alongside Hale as they collectively attempt to thwart the inevitable.
