Cat fights? Maybe women's sports aren't so bad after all.

Not to be a dick, but women’s sports are usually god awful and boring as hell to watch. Think about it though, there are scrubs in men’s professional sports that are better than the “elite” players in women sports. Hell, I’m not in great shape and I bet I could run most of the chicks in the WNBA. One of the biggest things that make women’s sports so boring, aside from the decreased level of talent, is the blatant lack of physical contact. Sports are fun to watch when people are getting hurt and there usually just isn’t enough physical action in the WNBA etc. However, over the last couple of days there have been a couple of incidents which may indicate that women and the sports they play are becoming a tad more fierce.

IndyCar isn’t really a women’s sport, but it does have a couple of women drivers in it and last weekend Danica Patrick had a problem with fellow woman driver Milka Duno. Danica felt that Milka was driving too slow and was acting like a road block so after practice Danica went over and called Duno out on it. Duno responded by throwing her towels in Patrick’s face and that was pretty much the extent of it. Sure, it isn’t that exciting, but it’s a start. If all of this would have happened with them wearing bikinis it would have been amazing!

The second piece of evidence showing women’s sports are becoming more physical is a full out brawl from a WNBA game. Late in a game between the Detroit Shock and the Los Angeles Sparks when two players got tangled up and one ended up getting throw to the floor. Madness followed and the benches cleared with the most controversial moment coming when an assistant coach pushed Lisa Leslie trying to break things up. It turned in to a big issue because the coach was a man and he pushed a woman but if Lisa Leslie just stayed out of things it wouldn’t have been a big deal. Furthermore, I’m surprised Leslie didn’t turn to dust when she hit the floor, she looks older than dirt.

It’s a pretty legit fight, and I have to give it up to those girls for throwing down. Maybe if there was a fight guaranteed in every WNBA game, people would actually watch or give a shit about it. The only thing I know about the WNBA now is that they refer to lay-ups as slam dunks which is weak as hell.

Ideally when I see women fight it is in a pool full of Jell-O, pudding, or K-Y Jelly and their clothes are off or at least see through. Obviously women’s sports can’t do this because then they wouldn’t be able to air on television, which wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing, so I will settle for the little action I can get. It’s nice to see the girls getting worked up like it actually matters who wins their silly little games.
